There are some days when you literally bounce out of bed, and want to hit every item on your to-do list. Other days, all of your previous vim and vigor is completely gone, only to be replaced by a vague blasé feeling. But you still have to get things done, right? The big question is, how? These three tips might be just what you need to resect how you’re feeling and work through your to-dos, too.

The truth is, feelings and emotions are important. They tell us a lot about what’s going on inside of us. For one thing, your hormones shift throughout your menstrual cycle, and depending on where you are in your cycle, you can feel high as a kite, or incredibly low.

But life goes on, doesn’t it? This means all the household chores, grocery runs, errands, going to work and keeping up with daily life has to go on, too. So, here are some ideas to help you move through these blasé days.

Feelings are just feelings

I know we just said that feelings and emotions are important. And they are. But they’re also just feelings, too. And sometimes, when you’re not feeling incredibly motivated and excited about anything, it can make you feel like nothing is really important.

But If you can tell yourself that these are just feelings and that you can act along with them, it’s actually very empowering and puts you back in the driver seat of your life.

Keep moving

So, you don’t have your normal drive and enthusiasm today? No problem. It’s okay to move slowly, too. This is actually an act of self-love. That’s because you respect how you’re feeling and react accordingly, instead of bulldozing your way through the day.

Be gentle on yourself

If you don’t feel like doing something, you may still have to do it, but now it’s all about how you do it. Speak kindly and say encouraging things to yourself. After you finish your to-do’s, praise yourself, and treat yourself to some much-needed self-care.

Maybe that’s a warm aromatic bath. Or, maybe it’s a night in with your favorite cup of tea. Do what you have to do, but then remember that you have to take care of yourself, too.

Many of us are lamenting our tired, dull skin. And it’s no surprise. Between the winter elements, the lack of sunshine and just life in general, our skin is starting to show the effects.
