Jen Ator is Women’s Health Magazine’s fitness director, and between her jam-packed schedule and her passion for fitness, she’s figured out a way to balance a busy life with staying fit. Her advice is relevant for busy ladies everywhere.

Do some form of activity every day

For many of us, it’s just not possible to spend an hour in the gym, 5 days a week. And you do, you might burn out pretty quickly. Instead, Amor encourages women to find a activity threshold that they can do every day no matter what. A quick walk, a set of ab exercises, etc. It’s important to just do something to keep your body active from one day to the next.

Don’t exhaust yourself

Yes, it’s important to push yourself and not give up. But pushing yourself too far will have detrimental effects. For one thing, it will be harder to stick to your fitness routine, which can be frustrating and prevent you from losing weight and feeling good.

Identify why you eat

Emotional eating is something many women experience, and this can make it hard to stay fit, no matter how frequently you work out. So, try to identify why you eat. If it’s to calm your emotions, try to develop healthy coping mechanisms so that you don’t turn to food to relieve stress.

Prepare foods in advance

Nothing is worse than being hungry and not having anything to eat. That’s when you reach for unhealthy snacks and empty carbs. Instead, prep healthy whole grains, like rice and quinoa. Prepare chicken or turkey, along with high-fiber and nutrient dense veggies. This way, you’ll always have fast healthy food to eat when hunger strikes.

If you want to eat healthy or slim down, one of the biggest challenges is dealing with hunger. No one wants to feel hungry, but when mid-morning or mid-afternoon strikes, and your stomach growls, it’s hard to resist fast food and unhealthy snacks. And if this is something you struggle with, keep reading to see the eight foods that help you feel fuller longer.
