6 yoga moves you can do at your office desk

Most days, you just need a break from your office desk. A refreshing walk, a quick yoga practice, or a simple stretch. But that’s not usually an option. Instead, you’re stuck at your desk for hours on end. So, if that’s how your work day typically looks, you’ll want to try these seven yoga moves – you can do them right at your desk for a quick and much-needed pick me up. 

Seated twist

Sit up tall as you inhale. On an exhale, gently twist to one side and breath. Then, return to center and repeat on the other side.

Seated lateral side bend

Give yourself a nice and easy stretch. Hold onto the chair with one arm while lifting the opposite arm up overhead. Breath deeply and repeat on the other side.

Sit at the edge of your seat, and place the left ankle above the right knee. Bend from your hips, keeping your back straight. This gives you a nice stretch for your hips, quads and lower back.

While sitting, bend your right knee but don’t let your knee go past the top of your right toes. Then, extend the left leg behind you. Remember to sit up straight, zip up your abs and breath. Repeat on the other side.

You might not want to do this when anyone’s looking, but it’s a wonderful way to rejuvenate both body and mind. Inhale, and on the exhale, stick your tongue out and raise your eyes to the ceiling. Repeat.
