The wonderful thing about summer is that you get to take your dates outdoors. The only problem is, your summer soirees can start to add up after a while. So, instead of staying in and watching Netflix every night, here are seven affordable yet fun date ideas to ride out the rest of summer.

Pick berries

Some farms offer U-pick, which means you can go berry picking and then enjoy your fresh fruit however you like. Usually it’s cheaper than buying berries at the store, and it’s a lot more fun besides.

Cook something special together

You don’t have to be a gourmet chef to cook. If there’s a dish you’re dying to try – either again or for the first time – find the recipe, put on your favorite playlist and cook it together.

Find a panoramic view

Buy a bottle of your favorite wine and head to the highest spot you can find. Then, admire the view and watch the sunset.

Dance

If you want to avoid the club, play your favorite music and have fun dancing with your partner. It doesn’t matter if you’re a great dancer or not – just have fun.

Light a bonfire

There’s something magical about cool summer evenings and the warmth of a crackling fire. Snuggle up and make some s’mores.

Go for a bike ride

If you don’t have a bike, see if your city has bike rental available. It’s a fun way to spend a weekend afternoon and move through your city or town.

Movies at the drive-in

It’s a win-win with this retro date idea. So what if the movie is a bit of doozy? You’ve got each other.

After a good run, most of think we’re done. And with a busy day ahead, we don’t want to waste time on a cool down routine. It just doesn’t seem necessary. But skipping a post-run cool down is a sure way to slow down your recovery time and also make your next run more difficult. So, after your next run, take 10 to 15 minutes to cool down with these five simple moves. Your body will thank you.
