In a report from CNN, Morgan Freeman is now the center of a sexual harassment scandal. Eight women have accused the Oscar-winning actor of sexual harassment and inappropriate behavior. 16 additional people reported a pattern of inappropriate behavior, revealing that this was a problem both on and off movie sets.

The CNN report begins with the story of a young production assistant, working on the the film, “Going In Style’ back in 2015. The woman alleges that she was the target of Freeman’s unwanted touching and comments about her body and clothing.

She reports that Freeman “kept trying to lift up my skirt and asking if I was wearing underwear.” The woman always walked away to prevent this from happening, but Freeman continued making attempts until fellow co-star, Alan Arkin told him to stop.

Another woman who was part of production for the film, 2012 “Now You See Me”, said that she and other female assistants were subjected to sexual harassment on a regular basis.

According to this woman, “He did comment on our bodies…We knew that if was coming by…not to wear any top that would show our breasts, not to wear anything that would show our bottoms, meaning not wearing clothes that [were] fitted.”

These are only two of the many instances in the report on Freeman, who was quick to make a statement after the report was published. The actor said, “Anyone who knows me or has worked with me knows I am not someone who would intentionally offend or knowingly make anyone feel uneasy. I apologize to anyone who felt uncomfortable or disrespected – that was never my intent.”
