We spend so much time waiting for summer. And before you know it, it’s here and we’re not prepared. And since summer’s can fly by, it’s a good idea to plan ahead to make sure your short summer is fun and unforgettable. To give you some sunny inspiration, here are nine ideas.

Find a local concert

Listening to live music gets even better when you find an outdoor venue. So, check out the local music scene, or track down your favorite artist’s tour dates and listen to your playlist IRL.

Go to the drive-in

Netflix and chill is great for dark winter nights, but it’s time to trade that in for a movie at the drive-in.

Visit a farmer’s market

Nothing beats fresh produce at a local farmer’s market. Make it a weekly or bi-monthly occasion and enjoy the taste of summer.

Go on a wine tour

What better way to spend your weekend than tasting fabulous wines with your friends and/or partner. Cheers!

Host a weekend brunch

Whip up your favorite omelettes, serve some fresh fruit and enjoy lots of laughs with an easy weekend brunch.

Head to the water

If you live near near the waterfront, make sure you get there this summer. You can either spend time on the beach, go swimming, surfing, boating, kayaking or canoeing.

Get out of the city and go berry picking

Take a break from the hustle and bustle and find a local berry picking farm. It’s a cheap way to get your hands on great produce and enjoy your time outdoors, too.

Light a bonfire and roast s’mores

You won’t have to convince your friends to join you for this one. When hot days cool down into comfortable nights, bonfires and s’mores are a great way to unwind.

Eat al fresco

Now that you can eat outside, make sure you do! How about on your lunch break? What about at home on the weekends?
