In just over a month after the devastating school shooting in Parkland, Florida, students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School came together to organize a national movement against gun violence. Their efforts culminated in this weekend’s March For Our Lives. How did it go?

Hundreds of thousands of individuals gathered in Washington to protest gun violence, not only in schools, but throughout the country. They’re demanding a drastic change in gun legislature to bring a definite end to gun-related tragedies.

A gun safety group, Giffords, along with New England Patriots CEO, Robert Kraft, helped provide transportation for Parkland student families so they could attend the rally in Washington D.C., along with their children.

Another group, Everytown for Gun Safety, also helped students from other major cities, like Chicago, Philadelphia and New York City, make it to the D.C. march.

And thanks to local Washington moms set to work to find free housing for students arriving in the country’s capital.

Celebrities also came to give their support. Miley Cyrus, Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato and others performed at the rally. George and Amal Clooney also marched with students, families and other activists, after contributing $500,000 to the march.

Joining Parkland students was another notable young woman – Martin Luther King Jr.’s granddaughter, 9 year-old Yolanda Renee King. She told crows, “My grandfather had a dream that his four little children would not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character. I have a dream that enough is enough. That this should be a gun-free world. Period.”
