Trends come and go and sometimes they come back again. Versace’s Spring 2018 collection is clearing the way and making room for a (big) 80’s trend: voluminous, high big hair. And what better way to see this look come full circle than with a mother-daughter comparison inside the world of Versace?

Back in 1987, American supermodel, Cindy Crawford, was photographed in an ad series for Gianni Versace, with her larger than life waves.

30 years later, Crawford’s look-alike daughter, Kaia Gerber, is being featured in Versace’s tribute to the late Gianni Versace. Gerber’s hair is over-the-top and larger-than-life. It’s basically everything you’d expect in a Versace ad.

But you might be thinking that this extravagant look is only for the supermodels and haute couture. But that’s where you’d be wrong.

You can flaunt them just like Uzo Aduba did, by using some tried-and-true products, like mouse, hairspray and dry shampoo.

So, if you’re tired of constantly having to straighten your hair, this is your lucky year. Your hair isn’t something to be tamed and glossed over. You can let it go in all it’s wild volume and glory. And to really embrace the 80’s, you can also tie your big hair with another throwback that’s in vogue: scrunchies.
