Christina Aguilera has gone through lots of transformations over her 20-year career. And her latest is completely different from what we’re used to seeing from this powerhouse superstar. But it’s also an amazing transformation. You could say it’s no transformation at all. We finally get to see Aguilera just as she is, barefaced and without any makeup.

As the latest covergirl for Paper Magazine, Christina Aguilera, shared that “I’ve always been someone that obviously loves to experiment, loves theatrics, loves to create a storyline and play a character in a video or through stage. I’m a performer, that’s who I am by nature. But I’m at a place, even musically, where it’s a liberating feeling to be able to strip it all back and appreciate who you are and your raw beauty.”

And Aguilera’s raw beauty is a refreshing intimate look at this strong persona. Did anyone know she had freckles?

The shoot also includes glamorous looks, too, because after all, Aguilera still loves a “ beat face,” as she shared in the Paper Magazine interview.

Over the course of her career, Aguilera has been nominated for 18 Grammys, won five, starred in movies, has been a judge on the The Voice, and is a mom of two kids. At 37, she’s had a very full life.

But she’s not slowing down. Fans have started asking when her next album was coming out – she hasn’t released anything since her 2012 album, Lotus. Her reply was a cheeky Insta-story, saying it was coming soon.

Will her new album reflect Aguilera’s newly-found, barefaced freedom?
