Do you find yourself judging others and even yourself? Do you feel like other people judge you? You’re not alone, and #1 New York Times best-selling author, Gabrielle Bernstein, knows exactly how you feel. So much so that she wrote a book about it, and it can help you stop judging and start connecting.

Bernstein’s latest book, Judgment Detox: Release the Beliefs That Hold You Back from Living a Better Life is for anyone and everyone who’s ever judged, which in most cases is practically everybody.

But what is judgment? According to Bernstein, judgment is “a separation from oneness.” It’s divisive and corrosive.

She goes on to explain that “we all have a deep founded connection to kindness, oneness, compassion, and love. That is who we truly are. And anytime we judge, we are separating from that truth within us.”

So, why do we judge? In writing this book, Bernstein discovered that “judgment wouldn’t be present if you weren’t in some way calling out for love.” In short, we judge because we feel unloved, inadequate, insecure and scared.

And what Bernstein’s book offers is a way to work on your own inner demons so that you judge less and love more.

One of the key points Bernstein wants people to know is that this book doesn’t set out to eliminate all judging for the rest of your life.

Instead, her 6-step program empowers you to recognize your moments of judgment, and to pivot away from them. This way you no longer believe or indulge in judgments – which is another way to separate yourself from others.

If you feel like this book is relevant to your life right now, consider adding it to your 2018 reading list. It just might be the key to creating true healing within and greater connection with those around you.

Last Sunday, Nicole Kidman joined many other actors in a powerful moment of solidarity by wearing black. It was part of the larger #METOO and #TIMESUP social movement, that Hollywood took part in. And while we’re proud that Kidman showed up in black, we’re super glad she switched it up last night at the 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards in Santa Monica, California.
