There are a lot of things that prevent women from getting pregnant. Stress, diet, environmental toxins, medications and lifestyle all have a negative impact on a woman’s reproductive health and fertility. Just recently, a study found that a diet high in junk food can delay getting pregnant. On the flip side, women can do a lot to safeguard and boost their fertility, and taking these top five macronutrients can help.

Zinc

Without enough zinc, certain enzymes can convert testosterone into estrogen. This can lead to too much estrogen in the body – a condition called estrogen dominance, and a factor behind reproductive health problems in women.

Vitamin B6

Everything from stress, to too much physical exertion, to alcohol and even the pill can lead to a Vitamin B6 deficiency. And that’s a problem because women need this B vitamin in order to have adequate levels of progesterone during the early part of pregnancy.

Vitamin D3

Studies show that a Vitamin D deficiency can contribute to infertility. And one reason for this is that insufficient levels of Vitamin D can lead to estrogen dominance. However, the study found that increasing Vitamin D intake can facilitate ovulation and therefore, getting pregnant.

Magnesium

Too much stress, along with sugar and caffeine, can deplete magnesium stores. But without this macronutrient, it’s difficult for your body to produce key hormones like progesterone, estrogen and testosterone.

Probiotics

A healthy gut makes it possible for your body to metabolize estrogen. So, making sure your gut is full of healthy bacteria, be sure to include probiotics into your diet and supplement routine.

And her three no-nonsense tips are perfect for young women all over the world, too.
