After a long day at work, we tend to feel tired and hungry, and our motivation levels are at about zero. So, it’s easy to squander this after-work time and waste it vegging out on the couch. But with some simple changes, you can revamp your after work routine to help you unwind, destress and set yourself up for a good day tomorrow.

Keep things in their rightful place

When you get home, take a second or two to put things exactly where they need to go. This goes for things like your coat,  keys, shoes, handbag, etc. You can avoid a lot of morning faffing when everything is ready and waiting for you.

Prepare the snacks

Unless you have a personal chef, dinner won’t be waiting for you when you get home. But to keep unhealthy snacking at bay, prepare some satisfying snacks for this pre-dinner time. Apples and peanut butter, carrots and hummus, or a handful of almonds can quell your ravenous hunger while you make dinner.

Take care of yourself

Even if it’s only for 10 minutes, do something that’s just for you. This could be a facial massage, a quick yoga sequence, a walk with your dog, or a call with your BFF. Whatever it is, do it, and watch your stress dissipate.

Think ahead to tomorrow

Take a half hour tonight to prep for tomorrow. You can save so much stress and time if you pack your lunch and lay out your outfit before you go to bed. This way, your morning won’t feel as scattered, and you’re not scrambling to get out the door.

We need the internet. There’s no way around that. But we also need an occasional break from the internet. And unfortunately, this simply doesn’t happen enough. When it does, we’re not even sure what to do with ourselves without social media and our favorite websites. So, if you could do with an Internet break, but you’re a bit apprehensive, consider these inspiring ideas. They’re bound to make you feel better and refreshed.
