The Kardashians aren’t known for giving traditional baby names to their heirs. So, it comes as no surprise that first-time mom, Kylie Jenner, who just announced the birth of her baby daughter last week, is following suit. On Tuesday, Jenner announced the baby’s name and the internet is reacting with confusion, criticism and oddly enough – weather jokes.

There was lots of speculation about what Jenner would name her daughter, and many followers were convinced that the newest addition to the Kardashian clan would be named Butterfly or Mariposa, since Jenner herself has several butterfly tattoos, and showed an interest in these fluttery insects.

So, it threw people for quite a loop when Jenner announced that her daughter’s name is Stormi Webster.

“Webster” is pretty self-explanatory. It’s the father’s last name, who was born, Jacques Webster. His stage name is Travis Scott. And perhaps the father’s symbolic stage name, which is a tribute to his uncle, is a clue that Stormi isn’t just a random name.

Nonetheless, no one’s exactly sure what Stormi signifies or means, but like her birth announcement, it came out of no where and social media wasted no time reacting.

To some, the Kardashian baby names are starting to sound like weather reports, with unusual names like North, Chicago, Reign and now, Stormi. Others are disappointed because Jenner’s baby name now rhythms with Jenner’s dog, Normi.

So, while the jokes continue, everyone is staying tuned in for more updates from Jenner. Until then, it’s any man’s guess what Stormi means and signifies.
