Zits, spots, pimples. Whatever you want to call them, we can all agree that they’re the worst. There are lots of acne treatments out there, but chances are, you probably have some right in your own kitchen. And if you like natural beauty tips, these five acne spot treatments are right up your ally. 

Apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar helps to restore the skin’s natural pH levels. And this helps to fight against bacteria and germs. What’s more, it helps to exfoliate, tone and cleanse the skin. 

Lemon juice

The citric acid in lemon juice acts as an antiseptic and can help to draw excess oil from your skin and also fight bacteria. It can be quite strong for sensitive skin types, so remember to use just a little at first. 


Strange, but true, potatoes are believed to help with acne. Firs, clean, dry and peel your potato. Then, slice a thin piece and place it over your acne spot for up to 30 minutes. It can help to kill bacteria on the skin’s surface and also exfoliate, too. 


This sweet treat is a wonderful acne treatment, but not all honey is made equal. So, just be sure to use raw honey on your pimple. That’s because raw honey has natural antiseptic properties to fight bacteria. What’s more, honey is a natural anti-inflammatory and can reduce redness.

Onion juice

I know. This one doesn’t sound amazing, but onions have both antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory qualities. Plus, the sulphur in onions is thought to help acne scars, too. Just grate a small piece of onion and place it on the zit several times a day.
