6 tips that make dating fun and fulfilling

Even if you dream of having the perfect partner, that still doesn’t mean you want to date. Dating can be stressful and frustrating, but it doesn’t have to be. Take it from Match.com’s lead writer, who’s seen her fair share of dating, both on and off the world’s online dating site. Keep reading for her 6 expert tips for how to make dating fun and fulfilling.

Always be yourself

You don’t have to pretend to be someone else when you date. And perhaps we do this because we believe it’s important to hold back and be a little mysterious. But a little intrigue is one thing, changing who you are is another. So, always be yourself.

Identify non-negotiables

When you really want something to work out, you might brush aside your values and standards, but this is a big No in the dating world. So, before you even start to date, identify what your non-negotiables are. Then, when you start dating, honor them.

Talk about exclusivity

Communication is key to make sure you’re both on the same page from the get-go. It’s great if you want an exclusive relationship, but just make sure he does, too.

Keep it to yourself (at first)

With social media, you have easy and effortless opportunities to broadcast your new relationship. However, if it’s a good relationship and meant to be, you will have plenty of time to share the good news with family, friends and the rest of the world.

Date around

Once you establish exclusivity with someone, dating around isn’t a good idea. But dating multiple men at the same time helps you feel less desperate, and also helps you find the right guy, without pouring your entire heart and soul into a person who may or may not be right for you.

Always trust your gut

Even if you don’t like what your gut is telling you, listen to it. Because it knows what’s best for you, especially when your emotions can get in the way. When you trust your gut, you could prevent a lot of unnecessary pain and confusion down the road.

How to find a job you actually care about

But sometimes, if we’re desperate to find a new position (and if the grass is always greener on the other side), we end up searching for something else – anything else. But just because a job is new and different doesn’t mean it’s the right job. So, to find a job you’re really excited about, listen to what career coach, Katie Stricker, has to say.
