Kanye West is sharing his admiration for Donald Trump on Twitter. And while this isn’t the first time West makes bizarre and seemingly random tweets, his latest pro-Trump posts are triggering strong reactions from fans, family and media.
Following a report that West said, “I love Donald Trump” on a radio show last week, West (@kanyewest) launched into a barrage of tweets favoring Trump yesterday. One highlight includes this post from West:
“You don’t have to agree with trump but the mob can’t make me not love him. We are both dragon energy. He is my brother. I love everyone. I don’t agree with everything anyone does. That’s what makes us individuals. And we have the right to independent thought.”
Shortly after, wife, Kim Kardashian, stepped in and asked West to clarify his position with regards to Trump. And he did in a tweet posted just one hour after calling Trump his “brother”.
“my wife just called me and she wanted me to make this clear to everyone. I don’t agree with everything Trump does. I don’t agree 100% with anyone but myself.” (@kanyewest) This may have given fans some relief, but not much. West’s twitter storm continued long after this.
Trump replied just three hours later saying (@realDonaldTrump), “Thank you Kanye, very cool!”
While most people may not know what “dragon energy” really means, perhaps it isn’t a stretch that West identifies with Trump on some level.
These two men have demonstrated erratic behaviors when it comes to ideologies. What’s more, misogyny is another quality that taints both of their public profiles.
