It has been anything but smooth sailing for Laura Ingraham and her Fox News show, the “Ingraham Angle.” In March, Ingraham bullied Parkland shooting survivor, David Hogg, which led to several advertiser boycotts. Now, the talk show host finds herself under fire yet again after making comments about both illegal and legal immigration on her show Wednesday night.
In a rant which some are describing as both racist and white nationalist, Ingraham said:
“In some parts of the country, it does seem that the America that we know and love doesn’t exist anymore. Massive demographic changes have been foisted about the American people. And they’re changes that none of us ever voted for and most of us don’t like.”
She continued by saying, “From Virginia to California, we see stark examples of how radically in some ways the country has changed. Now, much of this is related to both illegal and in some cases legal immigration, that of course the progressives love.”
Her comments have disturbed critics and audiences alike. After all, the American we know and love is a country made up of immigrants, as CNN’s Chris Cuomo points out.
Some argue that Ingraham isn’t arguing against illegal (or legal) immigration processes. Rather, they say the Fox News host is attacking immigrants themselves while upholding white nationalism.
Although people are angry at her comments, it comes as no surprise considering Ingraham‘s flagrant statements in June, when she said, “Liberals hate our American traditions, and a lot of our heritage…They are also the agents of a historical ad cultural purge the likes of which I don’t think we have ever seen in our nation.”
