Even though Michelle Obama isn’t the First Lady of the United States anymore, she’s still inspiring young women across the country, including a very young lady: two-year old Parker Curry. And without a doubt, this little girl is just one example of Michelle’s powerful and positive influence.

On Tuesday, Michelle Obama got to meet Parker Curry, but why would former First Lady want to meet with a toddler? It all started with Curry’s visit to the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, D.C., where both Barack and Michelle Obama’s brand new portraits are displayed.

Michelle’s portrait shows a regal woman sitting quietly, wearing a bold gown. Parker Curry’s star-struck reaction to this impressive photo was shared on Facebook and from there, it went viral.

This little girl wanted to meet Michelle and tell her that “she’s a queen.”

And on Tuesday, Parker Curry’s dream came true. She not only got to meet the former First Lady, but she also had her very own dance party, dancing to “Shake it Off” by Taylor Swift.

And while Parker still might be a bit too young to share her thoughts on this historic meeting, Michelle took to Instagram and Twitter (@MichelleObabama) saying, “Parker, I’m so glad I had the chance to meet you today (and for the dance party)! Keep on dreaming big for yourself…and maybe one day I’ll proudly look up at a portrait of you!”

And even if girls of color throughout the US can’t have their own personal dance parties with the former first lady, it’s safe to say that Parker Curry is just one of the many young women who feel inspired by Michelle Obama.
