Last Sunday, Nicole Kidman joined many other actors in a powerful moment of solidarity by wearing black. It was part of the larger #METOO and #TIMESUP social movement, that Hollywood took part in. And while we’re proud that Kidman showed up in black, we’re super glad she switched it up last night at the 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards in Santa Monica, California.

Instead of a somber and serious black gown, Kidman did a 1-80 by wowing us all with a bright pink, floor-length gown that’s fit for a modern fairytale. This eye-catching number had sheer ruffles gracing the skirt, long sleeves with playful shoulders and cuffs, and a high neckline that balanced the dramatic V shape of the bodice. To top it off, it was peppered with silver sparkles from top to bottom.

Perhaps for some actresses, this would be a difficult look to pull off, since it could come off too girly, childish or downright silly. But this 50-year old actress seems to win in film and in style.

Kidman was magical in this pink dress, and her style proves that powerful women don’t have to dress in serious tones to be taken seriously. How can you not be smitten with her in this gorgeous piece?

Why not take Kidman’s bold stand as inspiration to have more fun with color in your own wardrobe – especially if it’s one dominated with black, black and more black. You might surprised how a bright color can change your entire look.
