On Wednesday, entrepreneur and reality TV star, Kim Kardashian, met with President Trump. Kardashian traveled to Washington D.C. to discuss prison reform and sentencing. Although she was expected to meet with Trump’s son-in-law and senior advisor, Jared Kushner, he was absent.

The topic of discussion for Kardashian was prison reform and sentencing, but she was also there to advocate for one woman in particular. Her name is Alice Marie Johnson, a 62-year old grandmother, who has spent over 20 years in prison for a low-level drug offense: helping to support communication for drug trafficking.

It appears that Kardashian met with Trump on Johnson’s birthday. On Twitter, the star shared a picture of the Presidential seal, saying (@KimKardashian), “Happy Birthday Alice Marie Johnson. Today is for you.”

While details of their meeting have not yet been disclosed, it seems that both Kardashian and Trump are pleased following their brief encounter.

On Twitter, Trump said (@realDonaldTrump), “Great meeting with @KimKardashian today, talked about prison reform and sentencing.”

Later that day, Kardashian gave her fans and followers this update, “I would like to thank President Trump for this time this afternoon. It is our hope that the President will grant clemency to Ms. Alice Marie Johnson who is serving a life sentence for a first-time, non-violent drug offense.”

Kardashian added, “We are optimistic about Ms. Johnson’s future and hopeful that she – and so many like her – will get a second chance at life.”

But the #MeToo founder, Tarana Burke, isn’t celebrating Weinstein’s indictment.
