When we talk about essential oils, we tend to focus on their beautiful aromas or their therapeutic benefits. But you can also use essential oils in your beauty routine without having to be an essential oil expert. So, if you want to make your beauty routine easier and smell like a goddess, keep reading.

Minty mouthwash

A good mouthwash is absolutely essential to kill off morning dragon breath. But unfortunately, most mouthwash formulas contain alcohol, which not only dries out your mouth, but also makes it easier for bad bacteria to proliferate.

Instead, add a couple drops of peppermint essential oil to a cup of water. Swish it around, rinse and voila. You’ve got fresh breath without any chemicals or alcohol involved. You can also try tea tree, eucalyptus, clove and myrrh essential oils in your mouthwash.

Mascara hack

If your mascara is expired, toss it. It’s better to be safe than sorry – especially when it comes to beauty products you apply around your eye. But one way you can extend the shelf life of your mascara is to add one or two drops of lavender essential oil to the mascara tube.

Not only will your mascara have a soothing, calming scent, but it will last a little longer, too.

Refreshing body scrub

Body scrubs are delicious, but also expensive. So, instead of dropping a lot of money on a natural product, just make your own. To do so, mix 1/2 cup of raw cane sugar with 1/2 cup of coconut oil, along with 20-40 drops of your preferred essential oil.

For an invigorating scrub, try a mix of grapefruit and orange essential oils. For something grounding and calming, try a blend of frankincense and myrrh.

Waking up around 4 or 5 in the morning might seem extreme, especially if you don’t absolutely have to. But many people choose to get up this early anyways. The question is, why? An early start to your day can make your morning and the rest of your day a lot more productive. If you’re not convinced and would rather hit snooze, keep reading for 7 tips to transform your morning routine.
